Recently i watched a movie 'My Name is Khan'. Just coz' i like Shahrukh Khan.
But in a way, to me, it was thought provoking.
The way a Human being is treated just becoz' of his religion. Not by his virtues.
Why?
I just felt that humanity is divided.
Why have we divided humanity into religion, caste, sub-caste, creed, race and what not.
Can't we just divide them by sex....A Male and a female. That's what God intended to do.
That's why He made a Male version of a human and a Female version.
Period.
And wasn't a 'Name' just enough to identify a human being.
I don't like being religious. I don't like slotting people as per their religion or caste.
I would rather like or dislike them by their behaviour, by their thoughts and by their personalities.
What if i was just 'Priya'...not a Hindu...not a Pillai.
Had i been any different if i was a Christian or a Muslim or a Jew or a Sikh or anyone!
My name might not have been 'Priya'.
But I had still been me...!
My Name is 'Priya' and I am just a Human Being.

What you say is very true...I even believe that women should not change their last name even after their marriage...Why should we...I was born as Usha Vijayraghavan and would like to die as Usha Vijayaraghavan...
Anyways what i am unable to understand is why the muslim population is always targetted whenever there is a terrorist attack...Don't the americans do it...Ok what about the student deaths happening in australia.Am sure had they got a decent percentage of muslim population the blame would have surely gone on the muslim popltn out there..
I loved this film maachis...Chandrachur and Tabu...There's this dialogue in the film which goes"Terrorists r not born...We as in the society make them"..
