How many of you have visited Khajurao? Orcha? Havelock? Leh? Gangotri?
These are some of the most exotic locations in the world.
And do you know where they are? INDIA.
But do you know where Indians go for a holiday?
Singapore, Malaysia, Mauritius, Dubai, Hongkong etc.....
Yeah! Fine! I know its none of my business to comment on where people go on vacations.
But i have a right to have my own opinion.
And as much as i love my country, i have a right to tell its people to travel more in their own country. To know about their own enriched and beautiful country.
And dont give me any shit that its dirty and unsafe and so on.
Come on! Its upto us to make it cleaner and safer and whatever is that you want it to be.
Now days its more of a status symbol... "Oooo i been to London... it was so awwwwwsome!!" and when you ask them to place Pune in India, they will tell you "Yeahhh...its somewhere near Delhi".....!!! Helloooo???? Anyone Listening!!
One who has travelled the length and breadth of INDIA, has a right to travel abroad.
I remember one of my friend mentioning, during her stay in the US of A, she was asked to talk about the cultural heritage of India. And she was clueless!! Infact, she found many Americans that knew a lot more about Indian Heritage!! Shouldn't we feel ashamed!!
Hey its never too late! Travel India! Learn!
Bring it on!! Lets make our country rich! Lets make our vacation plans here!!

Your opinion is taken...True that we have more places to see in india than abroad. India is a beautiful country and i like it the way it is. The places that u have suggested can only be done if you are in a big group consisting of grown up people. with kids the options of places to go to gets limited. just look at our own city life. where do we take the kids to during weekends???MALLS!!!!Why..becos that's the only place where they have something to play...Just think..Ratio of Parks,beaches:Malls...I am sure it will be the MALLS tht will be a clear cut winner..
I am a big fan of Jammu & Kashmir...But then we end up thinking of one's security before going to Jammu & Kashmir.True that security can't be guaranteed even in an alien country...
Vacationing abroad is no longer a status issue. It's sheer afford ability. Also there are many factors taken when you go for a holiday. Everyone thinks of only one thing when vacationing..It's enjoyment for oneself and the family..And most important one's kids...
So be it India or be it aborad the whole idea of vacationing is to HAVE FUN!!!

I agree that Holidays r for fun! And as i kid i travelled all over India with my parents. So it is not that India cannot provide places for fun for the kids. It depends on what you are expecting. If you want a Mall type atmosphere, then u will search for those places only! But my perspective in that regard is different. I dont want closed spaces for my child when i am on a vacation! :)) Anyway dont take it personally yaar... I just wrote it for a whole lot of people in and around me who prefer travelling abroad!! :)) Chill...
