First attempt at blogging

Well...I'm here... finally. Created a blogging ID. Started to blog. Wanted to start it a long time ago but...lazy meee... Y'day my mom suggested me to blog about some issue... she's 55.... she knows about blogging... mmmm...and here i was, thinking that blogging is the 'gen-xyzee thing'...

The issue that's been pricking me for some time is about a DOG.....!!
I live in southern india.
Just a few blocks from my place there's a family, recently returned from the US of A.
Apparently most of the family members are born in the US and they have returned to India so as to bring up their child in indian culture/tradition...or what so ever.
Well.... along with them came a dog too... "A Saint Bernard" .....!!!!!
The first time i saw it walking down the street[that was the first time i saw a saint bernard in person....in dog-person], i was amazed.... it was sooooo beautiful.... soooo huge.... sooo lovely. It literally took my breath away.
And then over the months i saw it slowly deteriorating....
A small garage cum room was set up for it...with no air conditioning... just a smal fan fixed up somewhere. I thought a dog this size ...A dog like Saint Bernard needs a cold climate to live and flourish. Not South India....!! For sure...anybody could see that, its simply wasting away. Why??!
Finally today i took up this subject with the granny of that house. And she told me that since the family took the dog as a pet, they din't feel like leaving the dog in the US while shifting.
Then the next sentence she said took me by real surprise.... they think, i quote "let the dog die here if it has to, rather than to leave it back".... and it is DYING... Is there any dog owner agreeing to this thought process??? Oh i feel pity for the dog from the bottom of my heart. Its not able to walk properly... and mind you, its not even 4 yrs old. I read somewhere that the lifespan of st. bernard is about 8-11 yrs. Is it the love for the dog that made the owners to drag it to a hot n humid climate?? or is it just to avoid the inconvinience or expence or what so ever that could have incurred if they had to keep the dog back home????!!!
Will you love someone so much that you will let him suffer with you rather than to let him go....
i hope not...
